UNION COUNTY, OR - The Oregon State Police is reporting that on June 5, 2022 at approximately 7:57 PM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a motorcycle crash on Highway 82 near milepost 32.
The preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound black Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Robert E. Scott (50) of Joseph, lost control and crashed. The weather, which was rain and fog, is being investigated as contributing factors.
Scott was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. A passenger, Linda S. Walker (52) of Joseph, was transported via Life Flight but had sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
Highway 82 was affected for approximately two hours.
OSP was assisted by Union County Sheriff’s Office, Elgin Fire Department, La Grande Fire Department, Life Flight and ODOT.
