Second Subject Arrested on Criminal Abuse of a Child Investigation in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel (case officer) along with Detective Hunter Disney and Capt. Richard Dalrymple arrested a second subject regarding the investigation into a four-year-old female child being exposed to Methamphetamine.

LSO logo Blackand Gold 200Derrick Feltner, age 36 of East Bernstadt, KY was taken into custody off Highway 490, six miles north of London on Friday morning February 2, 2024 at approximately 11:00 AM.

Feltner is charged with:

  • Criminal abuse – first-degree – child 12 or Under.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Note: this is the second individual to be charged on this investigation.

On Thursday, February 1st, 2024, Sheriff’s investigators arrested Jamie Setser age 38 of London, KY.  She was taken into custody off Old Salem Road, approximately 5 miles east of London following an investigation that determined that she allegedly exposed her four-year-old child to Methamphetamine causing the child to test positive for Methamphetamine and other Narcotics.

Jamie Setser was charged with:

  • Criminal abuse – first-degree – child 12 or Under

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

The two arrested individuals are the biological parents of the 4 year-old female. The child is in the custody of other family.

The investigation began after Sheriff’s investigators accompanied social services on a referral complaint.
