DRIVER KILLED, ADULT PASSENGER AND CHILD SERIOUSLY INJURED IN COLLISION ON KENTUCKY 61 IN LARUE COUNTY

HODGENVILLE, KY – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 4 responded to a single-vehicle fatal collision in LaRue County Sunday evening.

On Sunday, May 5, at approximately 6:30 EDT, KSP Post 4 received a call from LaRue County Dispatch requesting assistance investigating a single-vehicle fatal collision at the 6000 block of KY 61 (Greensburg Road). 

The preliminary investigation revealed Bobby D. Sexton, 59, of Magnolia, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on KY 61 when, for unknown reasons, he traveled onto the shoulder of the roadway before overcorrecting, causing the vehicle to overturn several times. Sexton was pronounced deceased at the scene by the LaRue County Coroner’s Office.

Two other passengers, an adult and a child, were in the vehicle at the time. The adult passenger was flown to the University of Louisville, and the juvenile was flown to Norton Children’s Hospital both for life-threatening injuries. 

KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the LaRue Co. Sheriff’s Office, Larue Co. EMS, LaRue Co. Fire, and the LaRue Co. Coroner’s Office.

The collision remains under investigation by Tpr. Lukas Jones.
