UPDATE

BROOKS HOUCK 200

Thursday, November 30, 2023 - On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, the Office of Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced that the Kentucky Court of Appeals upheld the order fixing Brooks Houck's bail at $10 million.

In September 2023, a Nelson County Grand Jury indicted Houck for complicity to murder in connection with the disappearance of Crystal Rogers. Rogers has been missing from her Nelson County community since July 2015 and is presumed dead.

The Court of Appeals agreed with arguments made by the Attorney General's Office and upheld the circuit court's order fixing bail. The Office issued the following statement:

"At the urging of the Attorney General's Office, the Court of Appeals correctly upheld the order fixing bail at $10 million for Brooks Houck given the need to protect potential witnesses and to secure a fair trial.

The Attorney General's Office will continue to work alongside Special Prosecutor Shane Young to ensure justice for Crystal Rogers and her family."

Brooks Houck, age 42 is lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
