RICHMOND, KY – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is continuing to investigate the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Tuesday, July 6, at approximately 6:01 AM EST, in Boyle County. KSP was requested by the Danville Police Department to investigate the incident.

FRANKFORT, KY— Kentucky’s new Commission on Race and Access to Opportunity kicked off its work in Frankfort this week with members seeking to have tough —but respectful—conversations on disparities across the state.Lawmakers created the commission during the 2021 General Assembly with Senate Bill 10. The 13-member panel will conduct studies and research on issues such as educational equity, child welfare, health, economic opportunity, juvenile justice and criminal justice, among others. It will also issue an annual report on its findings.

LEXINGTON, KY – On Thursday July 22, 2021, Kentucky State Police (KSP) held the annual achievement awards ceremony in Lexington to honor 62 troopers and officers who put on a uniform each day to patrol Kentucky’s neighborhoods with a mission of serving and protecting their fellow citizens. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, last year’s ceremony was postponed until it was safe to hold an in-person event in accordance with Healthy at Work and CDC guidelines. The achievement awards presented were for acts of service that occurred during 2019.
LONDON, KY (July 22, 2021) Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that Detective Taylor McDaniel and Detective Robert Reed arrested Jeffery Smith, age 50 of London, after the investigation into a double shooting that occurred on Old Way Road in Eastern Laurel County.
