Attempted robbery, public help requested - Whitley County


WCSD Press Release | Nov 14, 2016 | - Around 9:45 p.m. November 12, 2016, Deputy Jonas Saunders responded to the Dollar General Store along Cumberland Falls Highway outside of Corbin.

A man entered the store and tried to pay for a package of chocolate covered raisins. When the female ecashier opened the register, he reportedly instructed the cashier to give him all of the money or else he would hurt her.

The cashier was able to alert the manager, and the man ran toward Corinth Cemetery Road. He was not located.

The suspect is a white man, approximately six feet, two inches tall, and believed to be around 40-years-old or older. The suspect had a beard and was wearing a camouflage jacket and hat, along with jeans and tennis shoes that were black and white.

Dep. Saunders is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by Kentucky State Police Trooper Matt Ridener.
