London, Ky.  – On Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at approximately 9:30 PM, Trooper Steve Walker was patrolling on US HWY 25 in the Pittsburg Community of Laurel County when he observed a 2008 Honda Civic run a stop sign at the intersection of Glenview road.

Trooper Walker activated his emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The operator, later identified as Travis G. Brock, 19, of Pineville, accelerated traveling southbound towards London and refused to stop.

A vehicle pursuit was initiated and the operator continued traveling southbound on US 25 at a high rate of speed towards Interstate 75. The operator traveled southbound on I-75 and exited off on KY HWY 192 and traveled eastbound. As the pursuit continued, Brock intentionally swerved his vehicle at Troopers in an attempt to run them off the roadway. The pursuit ended after several miles when Brock lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole.

During the pursuit, Trooper Chris Saunders collided with a vehicle that pulled out in front of him near the intersection of KY HWY 192 and KY HWY 1006. Trooper Saunders was not injured and the driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Brock was arrested and charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree, Three counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree and several other traffic charges. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Trooper Walker is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by Troopers from Post 11, London City Police Department, Laurel County Sheriff’s Office and Laurel County EMS.
