Woman nabbed by LSO deputies facing multiple charges


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Daniel Grigsby and his K-9 – "Edge" along with Sgt. Larry Parrott and Deputy Shawn Jackson arrested a Georgetown resident on Wednesday night November 16, 2016 at approximately 11:15 PM.

Arrested was:

Amara Creech age 29 of West College St., Georgetown, KY.

The arrest occurred off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy. in a business parking lot approximately 12 miles south of London while deputies were conducting surveillance in that area due to a high number of drug complaints and arrests there.

Deputies observed suspicious activity from subjects and a vehicle there and conducted an investigation and found one of the subjects in possession of methamphetamine and learned that she had a prior conviction for meth possession. In addition the subject had outstanding bench warrants.

Amara Creech was charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – methamphetamine. In addition, the subject was charged on a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding charges of driving on DUI suspended license – first offense; operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense: giving officer false name or address; illegal possession of a legend drug: possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving. Also the subject was wanted on a Knox County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
