Arrests made after vehicle stopped for running red light in London

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Daniel Grigsby along with his K-9 "Edge" assisted by Officer Wilson with London City Police arrested two individuals on Saturday night December 10, 2016 at approximately 10:26 PM.

The arrests occurred on South Main St. in London after Deputy Grigsby conducted a traffic stop on a silver colored Pontiac Bonneville that ran a red traffic light almost colliding Deputy Grigsby's cruiser.

During the traffic stop, Deputy Grigsby observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and deployed his K-9 which alerted on the vehicle. An investigation was conducted and officers located several syringes, plastic baggies with residue, and a baggy containing suspected meth. Neither the driver nor the passenger claimed ownership..

During the arrests of both suspects, they were asked if they had any other contraband in their possession, and both denied possession. However while being lodged in the Laurel County detention facility, detention officers located contraband on both individuals.

The two individuals arrested and charged are identified as:

The driver: Cory Goldsberry age 23 Of Village St., London charged with disregarding a traffic control device – traffic light; no operator's license; driving on DUI suspended license – first offense; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. This subject was also charged with promoting contraband – first-degree after a syringe was found on this subject as he was being lodged in the detention facility.

The passenger: Tori McFadden age 19 of Baker Ln., London charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a controlled substance – second-degree; and promoting contraband – first-degree – dentention staff found this subject in possession of a Suboxone strip in her undergarments.

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
