KSP Conducts Murder Investigation in Madison County

RICHMOND, Ky. (July 6, 2019) –The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 just before 5:30 pm after a man was found deceased in a semi-truck that was parked at a Madison County gas station.

The initial investigation indicates that Abdul R. Muzaki, 58 years old parked his semi-truck in the Shell Mart parking lot at the corner of KY-627 and US-25, north of Richmond on Monday evening. During the overnight hours an incident occurred, and Abdul Muzaki was fatally injured. Muzaki was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Madison County Coroner, and taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Officer in Frankfort for an autopsy.

Anyone that saw any suspicious activity near the Exit 95 Shell Mart between the hours of 9:00 pm on Monday night and 5:00 pm on Tuesday is asked to contact KSP Post 7 at 859.623.2404.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Detective Charles Brandenburg. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Madison County Coroner.
