Clay Deputies arrest a Paces Creek man during Traffic Stop

Clay County, Ky. -  Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on July 13, 2019 at approximately 12:00 AM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Tommy Houston along with Clay County Sheriff Deputy Wes Brumley arrested Timothy Hayes, 37 of Paces Creek Road.

The arrest occurred when Deputy Houston was patrolling along South Highway 421 when he conducted a traffic stop got vehicle infractions.

Upon contact with the driver, the driver stated he did not have a license due to them being suspended for prior driving under the influences.

Deputy Houston conducted an investigation at which time determined the subject was under the influence of intoxicants. The driver refused to submit to a blood test. 

Timothy Hayes was charged with:

• Operating Motor vehicle under the influence of ALC/DRUGS/ETC
• Operating Motor vehicle on Suspended or Revoked Operator license
• Failure of Non-Owner Operator to maintain required insurance
• Failure to transfer motor vehicle
