Complaint of possible DUI on South Highway 421 / Clay County

Clay County, Ky. -  Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on July 16, 2019 at approximately 7:00 PM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Jeremy Gabbard and CSO Kendric Smith arrested Ezra Wagers, 73 of Highway 1524 and Retha Hibbard, 52 of Highway 1524.

The arrests occurred when Deputy Gabbard received a complaint of a possible DUI on South Highway 421.

Upon contact with the vehicle Deputy Gabbard conducted an investigation at which time determined the subject was operating under the influence. The driver stated he had taken 3 nerve pills prior to operating the motor vehicle.

The passenger of the vehicle was determined to be under the influence following an investigation, upon running the passengers information it was confirmed through Clay County Dispatch that the individual had a Clay County arrest warrant. 

Ezra Wagers was charged with:

• Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of ALC/DRUGS/ETC.

Retha Hibbard was charged with

• Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
• Terroristic Threatening, 3rd Degree
