LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective James Sizemore along with Detective Bryon Lawson, Detective Kyle Gray, Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards, Maj. Chuck Johnson, Sgt. Greg Poynter, and Sgt. Jack Caudill arrested three individuals off West Carter Road in London on Wednesday afternoon August 21, 2019 at approximately 2:07 PM.
The arrests occurred while investigators with the Sheriff's office were checking a drug complaint there and found individuals in possession of scales, baggies, a needle, and a glass pipe with suspected meth residue, and one individual wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Those arrested were identified as:
Michelle Elkins age 48 of Chaney Ridge Road, London charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Marijuana
In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear for drug court regarding charges of two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense-Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – second-degree – first offense
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – first offense
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
Brandy Lee May age 40 of Highway 490, East Bernstadt charged with:
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Christopher N. Elkins age 37 of Bethel Hill Road, East Bernstadt charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
