Drug Arrest at scene of Assault Complaint / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. (October 20, 2019) -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Joey Robinson along with Deputy Taylor McDaniel arrested Larisa N. Cureton age 30 of West Highway 92, Williamsburg, KY on Saturday afternoon October 19, 2019 at approximately 12:30 PM.

The arrest occurred off South Stewart Rd., approximately 11 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of an assault and a male subject with a gun.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies conducted an investigation. A male subject there stated that some type of transaction had occurred there that went bad and there was apparently a fight over a gun. Subjects there were uncooperative with deputies.

A female subject there appeared to be under the influence and deputies determined through investigation that she was under the influence – she stated she had taken Suboxone and Klonopin earlier.

Upon arrest this individual was found in possession of two pill bottles – one with Suboxone and the other with Klonopin and a hypodermic needle.

Larisa N. Cureton was charged with:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense
  • Harrasing communications
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a controlled substance – third-degree

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
