LSO K9 “Gotcha” tracks & locates subject that fled Police in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. (December 31, 2019) - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9 Deputy Jake Miller along with Deputy Allen Turner, Deputy Brent France, and Deputy Hunter Disney arrested John Goldsberry age 45 of London on Sunday afternoon December 29, 2019 at approximately 4:29 PM.

The arrest occurred off Morentown Road, approximately 3 miles north of London after deputies located an individual that fled out a residence and who was apparently in possession of a vehicle not his own and had outstanding warrants.

This individual fled out the back door of a residence and was tracked by the sheriff’s office canine “Gotcha” (left) and found hiding in the roof of a building.

John Goldsberry was charged with:

  • Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle – first offense
  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
  • Resisting arrest
  • Outstanding warrants of arrest

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
