Laurel Deputies arrest Leslie County man for drugs

LONDON, KY (January 5, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy Joey Robinson arrested Glenn C. Asher age 55 of Stinnett, KY early Sunday morning January 5, 2020 at approximately 12:15 AM.

The arrest occurred on KY 3434 approximately 3 miles north of London following a traffic stop deputies conducted on a white Nissan Versa that was observed swerving over the centerline.

During the traffic stop a passenger in the vehicle was found with a Suboxone strip which he had no prescription for.

In addition, during investigation this subject was found with a prescription bottle in his possession containing Tizanidine, suspected Gabapentin, and Percocet all in the same container.

Upon additional investigation this subject was determined to be under the influence.

Also, while being processed at the Sheriff's office deputies found this subject with a cut to his finger and upon further investigation deputies found blood and a glass pipe stuffed down in the rear seat of the police cruiser with blood around it.

Glenn C. Asher was charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance second-degree – barbiturate
  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Criminal mischief – second-degree

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
