Booneville resident behind bars in London facing Careless Driving & other charges

LONDON, KY (January 5, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9 Deputy Gary Mehler along with Deputy Joey Robinson and Deputy James Fox arrested Roderick J. Fields age 38 of Booneville, KY early Sunday morning January 5, 2020 at approximately 1:40 AM.

The arrest occurred on South Laurel Road in London following a traffic stop conducted by deputies on a silver colored Honda Civic where the driver was observed carelessly crossing the centerline.

During the traffic stop, it was learned that the driver's license had been expired since October 2018.

In addition, the driver was found in possession of:

  • A glass meth pipe
  • A loaded syringe containing suspected Methamphetamine
  • A second glass meth pipe

Roderick J. Fields was charged with:

  • Careless driving
  • Operating a vehicle with an expired operator's license
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
