Cash & over 3/4 pound of suspected Methamphetamine seized in southeast KY from 2 Louisville residents

BARBOURVILLE, KY - The Knox County Sheriff's Department is reporting that: On Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 10:30 AM Deputy Bobby Jones initiated a traffic stop on a Ford SUV for crossing the center line while he was behind the vehicle on Brad Martin Lane

Upon contact with the driver Jones obtained consent to search the vehicle and removed both occupants.

The passenger, 32 year old Jalisa Woods of Louisville, displayed a large item concealed within her clothing when she was removed from the vehicle.

Upon questioning she presented a plastic bag containing suspected Methamphetamine. Further search yielded a large amount of cash.

The plastic bag was found to contain over 3/4 of a pound of suspected Methamphetamine.

Arrested was:

The driver, Courtney Leo Pierce age 30 of Louisville, KY charged with:

  • Trafficking a controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense (Methamphetamine)
  • Careless driving
  • No operators license
  • No insurance

The passenger, Jalisa Marie-Mona Woods age 32 of Louisville, KY charged with:

  • Trafficking a controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense (Methamphetamine)

Both individuals were lodged in the Knox County Jail
