Trafficking arrest south of London, KY during investigation of possible drug activity complaint

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Taylor along with Deputy James Fox and Deputy Tommy Houston arrested Ray O. Baker age 38 of Burnett Road, London early Sunday morning April 5, 2020 at approximately 5:07 AM.

The arrest occurred off Dogwood Springs Drive, 3 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of possible drug activity there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies encountered this individual and found him in possession of hypodermic syringes containing a clear substance, a crystal like substance believed to be Methamphetamine, digital scales, hypodermic needles, Diazepam, and a loaded shotgun.

Ray O. Baker was charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Persistent Felony Offender I
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a controlled substance – third-degree
  • Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Trafficking in Marijuana

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
