LONDON, KY (November 11, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston arrested Shawn Douglas Mathis age 27 of Whitfield, Georgia on Tuesday night November 10, 2020 at approximately 11:40 PM.
The arrest occurred off Greta Lane, approximately 8 miles South of London after Deputy Houston was dispatched to a complaint from a security guard at a business there that a male subject had allegedly been harrassing a female employee there.
Employees there stated that this suspect had apparently attempted to make contact with the female employee over a period of approximately two weeks and had reportedly caused damage to her vehicle in the parking lot there.
It was also learned that apparently this subject fled the scene on numerous occasions.
Deputy Houston conducted an investigation determining that the suspect was under the influence and had no right to contact the female subject there.
Shawn Douglas Mathis was charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Criminal trespassing – third-degree
- Stalking – second-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
