Deputies in Ky. dispatched to locate vehicle reportedly all over the road find driver with a bag of pills using 2 cell phones

LONDON, KY (November 16, 2020) -Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9 Deputy Jake Miller arrested Janice Gayle Ward age 52 of Slate Lick Rd., London on Monday morning November 16, 2020 at approximately 10:35 AM.

The arrest occurred on Tobacco Road in London following a traffic stop conducted on a gray Nissan Altima whose driver had two cell phones in her lap she was using.

Deputies had been dispatched to attempt to locate the vehicle because it was reportedly all over the road.

An investigation was conducted and the driver was determined to be under the influence.

In addition, this subject was found in possession of:

  • A glass pipe with white residue believed to be Methamphetamine
  • A bag of pills

Janice Gayle Ward was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – First offense
  • Possession of a controlled substance – Third-degree
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia
  • Careless driving
  • Driving motor vehicle while using a handheld mobile telephone

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
