CAPTURED: Man Evading Police in Kentucky on ATV Damages Residential Yards Before Crashing & Fleeing on Foot

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brent France arrested Randy Cunagin age 36 of Lily on Saturday evening November 28, 2020 at approximately 7:12 PM.

The arrest occurred off Highway 3094 approximately 3 miles north of London after Deputy France observed a blue ATV being illegally operated on the highway.

Deputy France activated his emergency equipment however the vehicle failed to stop traveling across several residential yards causing damage to the yards.

The vehicle then traveled into a wooded area and struck a tree becoming disabled and the driver attempted to flee on foot ditching a handgun along the way.

However, following a brief chase and scuffle was taken into custody & charged with numerous traffic violations along with four child support warrants.

Randy Cunagin was charged with:

  • Driving on DUI suspended license – First offense
  • Fleeing or evading police – Second-degree – Motor vehicle
  • Numerous other Traffic violations
  • Resisting arrest
  • Fleeing or evading police – Second-degree – On foot
  • Criminal mischief – Second-degree
  • Four outstanding bench warrants of arrest regarding Flagrant nonsupport

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
