Two Arrests: Man Barricades Door on LSO Deputies Investigating a Possible Overdose in Southeast, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed along with Deputy Brent France and Deputy Dylan Messer arrested two individuals on Sunday night November 29, 2020 at approximately 8:39 PM.

The arrests occurred off C Smith Road, approximately 8 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a possible overdose there, that a male subject had allegedly taken several sleeping pills.

Deputies learned while enroute that the male subject was walking around with a knife inside the residence.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies located numerous individuals outside the residence stating that the male subject and a female subject were inside the residence.

As deputies attempted to make entry to check the welfare of the female subject, the male subject barricaded the door to the residence.

Deputies made entry to the residence where they encountered a male subject creating a disturbance and a female subject inside the residence who began yelling at deputies, creating a disturbance there.

Upon arrest these two individuals continued to yell and scream and kick and create a disturbance there.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

Justin Blake Barnes age 23 of London charged with:

  • Disorderly conduct – Second-degree
  • Terroristic threatening – Third-degree
  • Public intoxication – Controlled substances
  • Resisting arrest

Kasey E. Sniff age 19 of London charged with:

  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Resisting arrest

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
