Deputies in Southeast Kentucky Respond to Call of a Body Along Side of Road on Highway 25E

MELDRUM, KY - The Bell County Sheriff's Department is reporting that:  On Wednesday afternoon January 27, 2021 at approximately 1:15 PM Bell County Dispatch received a call of a body along the side of the road on Highway 25E in the Meldrum Community near Ward's Chapel.

Responding to the scene were Bell County Deputies Ron Jordan, Frank Foster and Chief Deputy Doug Jordan, who found the man lying on his back with his arms folded approximately 8 feet from traffic.

The man identified as 42-year-old Billy Henry of Hulen, Kentucky woke up moments after the deputies arrived on the scene and came to his feet saying he was just resting.

After acknowledging who he was to deputies a background check was run and Henry was found to have four outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Billy Henry was taken into custody, lodged in the Bell County Detention Center, and Deputy Foster served the warrants for failure to appear on three cases and one indictment warrant.
