Methamphetamine Found Hidden Inside Body Cavity of a Female in Southern Kentucky

WILLIAMSBURG, KY - The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is reporting that: At approximately 7:00 PM Tuesday evening, Sgt. Jonas Saunders, Deputy JB Coffee, and Deputy Chad Estep located a female inside a residence on Highway 904.

The female had been involved in a domestic altercation earlier in the day.

After locating her in the residence, Sgt. Jonas Saunders arrested Amanda Collett age 24 of Williamsburg, KY for:

  • Strangulation 2nd
  • Domestic Assault 4th
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

During a search of the residence, Sgt. Saunders located two weapons under a pillow inside the residence.

Sgt. Saunders arrested Michael Hamblin age 39 of Williamsburg, KY for:

  • Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
  • Possession of a firearm by a Convicted Felon

Deputy Estep arrested Julia Gentry age 48 of KY after locating 20 Gabapentin Pills inside of a purse at the residence.

During a routine search by detention center employees, Julia Gentry was found to have 4-5 grams of Methamphetamine hidden inside of a body cavity on her person.

Julia Gentry was charged with:

  • Promoting Contraband 1st in addition to:
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd
  • Prescription not in Proper Container

These three individuals were lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
