Man in Violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO Charged with Strangulation after Allegedly Assaulting a Female Victim in Laurel County

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Dylan Messer along with shift Sgt. Brett Reeves arrested Ronald Baker age 36 of East Bernstadt on Thursday morning February 25, 2021 at approximately 10:25 AM.

The arrest occurred off Ray Johnson Road, approximately 4 miles north of London after deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence complaint there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies learned that allegedly Ronald Baker had placed his hands around the female victim’s neck impeding her breathing to the point that she stated she felt like she was going to pass out.

Deputies noted red marks on both sides of the female victim's neck.

In addition, it was learned that there was an outstanding EPO/DVO banning the male subject from having contact with the female victim.

Ronald Baker was charged with:

  • Violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO
  • Strangulation – first-degree
  • Assault – 4th degree

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
