Deputies note suspect talking to imaginary people at complaint scene in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Greg Poynter Along with Deputy Marcus Stigall arrested Willie Riley, JR age 50 of London on Friday night May 21, 2021 at approximately 8:12 PM.

The arrest occurred off Lick Fork Road, approximately 5 miles east of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject that had broken the front door down of a residence and damaged property there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies noted that the suspect was talking to imaginary people.

Deputies determined that this subject was under the influence and had allegedly assaulted a male subject there and upon arrest this subject struggled with deputies before being taken into custody.

Willie Riley, JR was charged with:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Assault – 4th   degree
  • Resisting arrest
  • Criminal mischief – third-degree
  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Terroristic threatening – third-degree

This individual lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
