Fatal Collision on Interstate I-75 in Whitley County, Kentucky

WILLIAMSBURG, KY – On Sunday, August 08, at approximately 10:11 PM, the Kentucky State Police, London Post responded to a single vehicle collision that occurred on Interstate I-75,  just north of the Tennessee line in Whitley County.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup operated by Robert Q. Hamblin, 32 years old of Jellico, TN, was traveling north on Interstate I-75, when he lost control of his vehicle, and ran off the right side of the roadway and ran into a hillside.

The pickup overturned and Mr. Hamblin was ejected from the vehicle.

As a result of the collision, Mr. Hamblin suffered life threatening injuries, and died at the scene. He was pronounced deceased by the Whitley County Coroner's Office.

KSP Post 11 Trooper Donnie is continuing the investigation.

He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 Personnel, the Whitley County Sherriff's Office, Whitley County EMS, Emlyn Fire Department and the Whitley County Coroner's office.
