Deputies In Laurel County, Kentucky Find Methamphetamine During Recovery Of Stolen Property

LONDON, KY (September 30, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Deputy Dustin Saylor arrested two individuals on Wednesday evening September 29, 2021 at approximately 6:05 PM.

The arrests occurred on Oak Ridge Church Road, approximately 9 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that two subjects were allegedly stealing packages off porches there.

As deputies arrived in the vicinity of the complaint they observed a male and female walking along Oak Ridge Church Road and noted that the female subject was carrying two boxes in her arms.

Deputies conducted an investigation learning that both individuals had outstanding warrants.

In addition, it was learned that the two boxes the female subject was carrying had been taken off a porch nearby.

Deputies were able to locate the shipping label in the woods nearby and return the stolen property to its rightful owner.

Also, during the investigation the male subject was found in possession of suspected Methamphetamine.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

Michael Allen Joseph age 43 of Tower Road, London, KY charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:

  • Failure to appear in court on charges of criminal trespassing – third-degree

Jamie L. Goodin age 36 of Tower Road, London, KY charged with:

  • Receiving stolen property; criminal trespassing – third-degree

In addition, this subject was charged on a Bourbon County District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:

  • Failure to appear in court on charges of flagrant nonsupport

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
