OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING INVESTIGATION IN CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OREGON

MOLALLA, OR - The  Oregon State Police is reporting that on October 4, 2021, at approximately 10:21 A.M., Molalla Police Department officers responded to a medical assistance call at the residence of Brian Mills, located on the 700 Block of W. Main St. Molalla, OR.

After arriving on scene officers contacted Mr. Mills, who began arming himself. Officer’s attempts to negotiate and de-escalate Mr. Mills were unsuccessful. Mr. Mills began shooting at civilians and officers. 

A civilian received minor injuries as a result of gunfire and was treated and released from the hospital on October 4, 2021.

Officers were able to evacuate all occupants from the area and no additional injuries were reported. 

One Molalla Police officer returned fire during the incident.

 Mr. Mills was eventually taken into custody without further incident. Mr. Mills was lodged at Clackamas County Jail on charges of:

  • Attempted Aggravated Murder
  • Attempted Assault first degree
  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon
  • Recklessly Endangering

The Molalla Police officer was placed on administrative leave pursuant to Clackamas County Senate Bill 111 Protocols.

No officers were injured in this incident and the officer’s identity will be released at a later date.
