"Vehicle a Nuisance" one of Multiple Charges facing a Man after Traffic Stop on US Highway 25 in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY (October 29, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brian France arrested James Weaver age 44 of Lily on Thursday night October 28, 2021 at approximately 11:31 PM.

The arrest occurred on US 25 approximately 10 miles South of London following a traffic stop conducted on a green colored Ford Explorer.

During the stop it was determined that the driver was operating on suspended driver’s license and had two outstanding bench warrants.

James Weaver (right) was charged with :

  • Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license
  • No brake light
  • Inadequate silencer (Muffler)
  • Vehicle a nuisance
  • No tail lamps
  • Improper windshield

The vehicle was towed and in addition, this individual was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Assault – 4th degree
  • Public intoxication – controlled substances

Also, the subject was charged on a Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license
  • Two counts of contempt of court

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
