Father Arrested in Southeastern, Kentucky after Possible Child Abuse Complaint Investigation

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Lt. Chris Edwards along with Detective Robert Reed and Deputy Dustin Saylor arrested Allen Michael Baker age 31 of London on Wednesday evening October 27, 2021 at approximately 6:12 P.M.

The arrest occurred in London following an investigation conducted by Sheriff's investigators following a possible child abuse complaint received.

During the investigation deputies found a five-year-old child that had multiple scratches and marks on his face & chin with his left eye black and almost swollen shut.

The child told investigators that his father had struck him.

The child's father told investigators the child had fallen and hit his head against a TV stand.

Investigation determined that the child had been struck.

Allen Michael Baker was charged with:

  • Criminal abuse – second-degree – child 12 or under

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
