FRANKFORT, KY – Secretary of State Michael Adams has revised the Commonwealth’s Uniform Commercial Code regulations to remove unnecessary impediments to Kentucky borrowers and lenders.

“By cutting red tape in the loan process, we’ll give Kentuckians quicker closing times and easier access to their records,” Adams said. “As we’ve modernized our election process to make it more efficient and transparent for Kentucky voters, we’re doing the same on the business side for Kentucky consumers.”

The new regulations replace confusing language, provide more flexibility for UCC filings through the use of a dedicated email address, and reduce the time and costs of obtaining certified searches and records required for closing loans by allowing the public to search and receive them digitally.

The new regulations can be found HERE.
