FATAL COLLISION ON U.S. ROUTE 127 IN KENTUCKY

LAWRENCEBURG, KY - The Kentucky State Police is reporting that on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at approximately 2:50 P.M., KSP, Post 12, responded to a multiple vehicle collision that occurred on U.S. 127, at the intersection of Anderson Crossing Drive.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Gerald Cornish, age 79, of Lawrenceburg, KY was operating a 2005 Pontiac Montana, traveling north on U.S. 127.

At the intersection of Anderson Crossing Drive, Gerald Cornish made a left turn, into the path of a 2012 Lexus GX 460, driven by William Disponett, age 86, of Lawrenceburg, KY. 

The Lexus struck the Pontiac in the passenger side.

The passenger in the Pontiac, Shirley Cornish, 76, was transported to the Franklin County Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Gerald Cornish and William Disponett were transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital with unknown injuries.

The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police, Post 12 Collision Reconstruction Units.

The Kentucky State Police were assisted by the Lawrenceburg Police Department, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Lawrenceburg Fire-Rescue, Franklin County Coroner, and the Anderson County EMS.
