Duo arrested after Masked Female Bandit allegedly Threatens to shoot Store Clerk during Attempted Robbery in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY (January 25, 2022) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy James Sizemore arrested two individuals early Tuesday morning January 25, 2022 at approximately 6:55 AM.

The arrests occurred at a residence off Highway 1376 approximately 6 miles north of London following an investigation conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff's office following a robbery attempt at Glenview Market at the intersection of Glenview Road and North Laurel Rd. approximately 2 miles north of London on Tuesday morning January 25, 2022 at approximately 3:27 AM.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to an attempted robbery where allegedly a female subject dressed in overalls wearing a ski mask demanded money from the female store clerk threatening to shoot her.

The store clerk refused and the female suspect fled the scene in a gold colored Ford Interceptor driven by a male subject.

Sheriff's investigators reviewed video surveillance from the store and  developed information on possible suspects involved. Sheriff's investigators then traveled to a residence off Highway 1376 approximately 6 miles north of London where they located the suspect vehicle and the two suspects who admitted involvement.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

The female subject who attempted the robbery, Regina Lee Neal age 37 of Highway 1376, East Bernstadt charged with:

  • Attempted robbery first-degree

The driver of the suspect vehicle, William Jennings Francis age 41 of Irvine St., East Bernstadt charged with:

  • Complicity to commit robbery first-degree

In addition, this subject was wanted on a Clay District Court warrant of arrest charging:

  • Flagrant nonsupport

This individual allegedly owes arrearage of $8,985.57.

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Assisting on the investigation and arrests were: Laurel Sheriff's Lieut. Chris Edwards, Deputy Bo Harris, Deputy James Sizemore, CSO Joshua Valasco and the case officer Deputy Tommy Houston.

Also assisting was London City Police officers James Williams and Patrick Nunley.
