Woman arrested regarding Attempted Murder case in Southeastern Kentucky, Police searching for Suspected Shooter

PINEVILLE, KY - The Bell County Sheriff's Department is reporting that on Wednesday afternoon March 16, 2022, Bell County Deputies took 50-year-old Kimberly Chaves of Arjay, Kentucky into custody in regard to a March 5th shooting incident at her residence.

On that date 56-year-old John M. Miller of Arjay, Kentucky (with a residence also in New Tazewell, TN) is suspected of shooting an individual who was later flown to UT Medical Center for a life-threatening injury.

Kimberly Chaves has been charged with:

  • Facilitation and tampering with physical evidence in an Attempted Murder case

The Bell County Sheriff’s Department is still actively seeking John M. Miller. He is described as a 5’10" 180 lb white male with sandy-blonde shoulder length hair having brown eyes.

Miller may be armed, but not with the weapon used in the shooting. He should be considered dangerous and should not be approached if seen.
