Hinkle, Kentucky Man wanted on Warrants in Clay County arrested on Theft and Drug charges in Laurel County

LONDON, KY (March 29, 2022) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested Charles L. Miller age 50 of Jones Hollow Rd., Hinkle, KY on Monday evening March 28, 2022 at approximately 6:04 PM.

The arrest occurred at a business off KY 490 approximately 4 miles north of London after deputies were dispatched to a a complaint of a theft at a business there.

Employees reported that a male subject had fled from the business running toward School Street off KY 490.

Deputies were able to locate the suspect in a bathroom at another business nearby and identified him from a description given out from the original victim business.

As deputies conducted their investigation they determined that the suspect was wanted on two outstanding warrants.

In addition, this individual was found in possession of:

  • Suspected Methamphetamine
  • Pills
  • A set of digital scales

Charles Miller was charged with:

  • Theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Illegal possession of legend drug
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

In addition, this subject was charged on a Clay District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Assault – second-degree

This individual was also charged on a Clay District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Theft by unlawful taking under $500

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
