FATAL HEAD-ON CRASH HIGHWAY 18 IN YAMHILL COUNTY, OREGON

YAMHILL COUNTY, OR - The Oregon State Police is reporting that: On April 10, 2022, at about 11:30 A.M., OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two-vehicle head-on crash on Highway 18 near milepost 49.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a gray sedan with four occupants was traveling west on Highway 18 when for unknown reasons it left its lane of travel and collided head-on with a motorhome driven by Herman Hulshof, 67, of Canada.  Both vehicles became engulfed in flames from the collision.

The four occupants of the gray sedan suffered fatal injuries from the collision and were pronounced deceased at the scene.  At this time, the identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.  

The driver and passenger of the motorhome were uninjured.

Highway 18 was shut down for over five hours while the Oregon State Police conducted the investigation.  

OSP was assisted by the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, McMinnville Police, McMinnville Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released when available.
