OSP IS ASKING FOR PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN FATAL OFFICER-INVOLVED-SHOOTING INVOLVING SALEM POLICE DEPARTMENT

MARION COUNTY, OR (April 12, 2022) -The Oregon State Police is asking for public assistance with information regarding an Officer-involved shooting that occurred on Monday, April 11, 2022, at around 8:30 P.M. involving the Salem Police Department. 

In a parking lot at the 1700 block of Center Street NE, two Salem Police Officers, Corporal Joshua Buker, with nearly eight years of service, and Officer Susan Slivkoff, five years of service, were investigating a possible stolen vehicle when a physical confrontation occurred and resulted in Corporal Buker firing his weapon at the suspect. 

The suspect, identified as Tayler Shannon Osborne, 28, was shot. 

The Officers provided first aid at the scene.  Osborne was transported to Salem Health where he was pronounced deceased.
