UPDATE: DRIVERS IDENTIFIED IN FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH ON U.S. 25 IN LAUREL COUNTY, KENTUCKY

LONDON, KY (June 21, 2022) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Crash Reconstructionist Deputy Brad Mink along with Crash Reconstructionist Lt. Chris Edwards are investigating a two vehicle single fatality traffic crash which occurred on U.S. 25 approximately 2 miles north of London early Tuesday morning June 21, 2022 at approximately 5:43 AM.

Investigators report that apparently a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling southbound on U.S. 25 and a Kenworth tractor-trailer collided in the southbound lane of U.S. 25 as the tractor trailer pulled onto U.S. 25 to travel southbound from a business parking lot causing a fatal injury to the driver of the motorcycle. The tractor trailer driver was uninjured.

The two drivers were identified as:

• The motorcycle driver – Edward Markham age 55 of East Bernstadt – fatal injuries – pronounced deceased at the scene by Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling
• The tractor-trailer driver – John Davis age 63 of London – Uninjured

Laurel Sheriff's deputies assisting at the scene included: Shift Sgt. Brett Reeves, Deputy Brent France, Deputy Allen Turner, Deputy Tommy Houston, Deputy Marcus Stigall, Deputy Bobby Jones, and Deputy Josh Velasco.

Other agencies assisting included: Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, East Bernstadt Fire and Rescue, London Laurel Rescue Squad, Laurel County Coroner's office, and Kentucky State Police KVE.

The investigation is continuing by the case officer Deputy Brad Mink.
