FATAL CRASH ON HIGHWAY 244 IN OREGON

UMATILLA COUNTY, OR (July 5, 2022) -  The Oregon State Police is reporting that on Monday, July 4, 2022 at approximately 7:36 PM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to single vehicle crash on Highway 244 near milepost 13. The location of the crash was 13 miles east of Ukiah. 

The preliminary investigation revealed a westbound silver Subaru Crosstrek, operated by Jacob Moser (30) of Yakima, Washington, left the roadway and rolled. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Moser was transported via Life Flight for his injuries. The passenger in the Subaru, Christopher Kendrick (26) of Mountain Home, Idaho, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

Highway 244 was closed for approximately 6 hours. 

OSP was assisted by Ukiah Quick Response Team, Life Flight and ODOT.
