Chief of Police Arrested and Charged with Burglary in Atkinson County, Georgia

Atkinson County, GA - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged the Willacoochee Chief of Police with Burglary. On Monday, October 31, 2022, the Alapaha Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office requested the GBI to conduct an investigation regarding the actions of the Police Chief.

Preliminary information indicates that Anthony Williams (49) of Adel, Georgia burglarized a home on October 11, 2022. On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, Mr. Williams turned himself in and was booked into the Atkinson County jail, where he has since bonded out.

Multiple sources are reporting Mr. Williams has since been terminated from his position.
