Homeland Security, Sheriff's K-9 assist Kentucky State Police in Meth Trafficking Arrest

OWENSBORO, KY (January 25, 2023) —The Kentucky State Police is reporting that a KSP Trooper conducted a traffic stop on East Byers Ave. and New Hartford Road in Owensboro at around 10:15 P.M. for a traffic violation.

During the stop, the Trooper identified the driver as Chad A. Davis, 44 of Owensboro.

During the stop, the Trooper and a Daviess County Sheriff's canine located six individually packaged bags of suspected Methamphetamine, scales and a 9mm pistol.

Chad Davis was arrested and charged with:

  1. Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd (or greater) Offense-Methamphetamine
  2. Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon
  3. Disregarding a Stop Sign

Davis was transported and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.
