Deputies Respond to Complaint of a Shooting in the Gray Community of Knox County, Kentucky

BARBOURVILLE, KY - The Knox County Sheriff's Department is reporting that on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 Knox County 911 received a complaint of a shooting in the Gray community.

SMITH KnoxLt. Sam Mullins, Sgt. Bobby Jones, Deputy Jeremiah Williamson, and Deputy Mike Taylor, all responded.

Once on scene, deputies determined two males were involved in a verbal argument, leading to shots being fired. Deputies believe one male was possibly struck, however, both males fled the scene prior to the deputy's arrival.

Sheriff Mike Smith is asking for any assistance in locating the men who have been identified as 21-year-old Timothy J. Hollin and 39-year-old Ricky Lee Smith, both believed to reside in the Gray community.

Officer Detective Drew Wilson will be in charge of the investigation.

Kentucky State Police Post 10 and Barbourville Police Department assisted at the scene.
