LINN COUNTY, OR (February 8, 2023) - On Monday, February 6, 2023, ClayCoNews received an email from a reader regarding the death of a Lebanon, Oregon resident killed Saturday night February 4, 2023 in a traffic crash on Highway 99 in Marion County.
Email: "I saw your coverage of the tragic death of 42-year-old Jose Trinidad Sanchez Encizo, the Lebanon man who died in a single vehicle crash on Highway-99 Saturday night, and wanted to be sure the GoFundMe honoring his memory reached you in the event you would like to add it to your coverage. Encizo was a father of six and a husband."
After researching the author of the email, we followed the link provided in it and found additional information that was not included in the initial Oregon State Police (OSP) press release, (OSP only releases basic details in their reports).
We're sharing that additional information with you below.

MARION COUNTY, OR (February 5, 2023) - The Oregon State Police is reporting that on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at approximately 7:24 P.M., OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 99 near milepost 43.
The preliminary investigation revealed a red Toyota Yaris was traveling southbound near Perkins Road NE, when it crossed the center line, left the roadway into a ditch, and crashed into a tree.
The driver, identified as Jose Trinidad Sanchez Encizo (42) of Lebanon, was declared deceased at the scene.
The Oregon State Police was assisted by Marion County Fire and Medics, the Oregon Department of Transportation, and the Marion County Medical Examiner’s Office.
