BOND QUADRUPLED FOR WHITLEY COUNTY, KENTUCKY MAN ACCUSED OF THE FEBRUARY MURDER OF A THREE YEAR-OLD VICTIM

WOODBINE, KY – The Kentucky State Police is reporting that on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 5:30 PM, KSP Post 11, London was contacted by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance with a death investigation involving a 3-year-old child in the Woodbine community of Whitley County

The preliminary investigation revealed that Whitley County EMS responded to a residence where a 3-year-old child was located unresponsive. The child was transported by EMS to Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, KY where the child was pronounced deceased by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy was scheduled in Frankfort at the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

As the investigation continued, Jordan Blake Taylor, 22 years old of Woodbine, KY (reportedly a former Clay County resident) was identified as a primary suspect in connection to the child's death. Taylor was taken into custody and transported to the Whitley County Detention Center.

Jordan Taylor was charged with:

  • 1 count of Murder, 1st Degree

According to the the Whitley County Detention Center's website, Kentucky State Police arrested Taylor on Monday, February 20, 2023 and he was booked into the detention center that same day at 2:10 A.M. where he was held on a $250,000 CASH bond.

After an appearance in Whitley County District Court on Monday, February 27, 2023, Taylor's bond has been quadrupled to $1,000,000 CASH. The case will now be presented to a Whitley County Grand Jury.

KSP Detective Logan Gay is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 personnel, Whitley County Sheriff’s Office, Whitley County EMS, Corbin Police Department, and the Whitley County Coroner’s Office
