Corbin, Kentucky Man wanted in Knox County found with Meth and a Stolen Pistol from Atlanta, GA during Traffic Stop in Laurel County

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9 Deputy Brian France along with Constable Robert Smith arrested Steven D. Graves age 40 of Gatewood Dr., Corbin on Thursday night March 16, 2023 at approximately 10:45 PM.

The arrest occurred on Level Green Road, approximately 10 miles southwest of London following a traffic stop conducted on a blue Ford Fusion that was being operated in an unsafe manner.

During the traffic stop it was determined that the driver identified as Steven D. Graves (left) was wanted on a Knox County warrant.

During arrest the driver was found in possession of suspected Methamphetamine and a loaded and cocked .380 pistol that was determined to be a reported stolen firearm out of Atlanta, Georgia.

Also, it was determined that the driver was a convicted felon, convicted in Michigan in a 2003 home invasion and also an assault less than murder also in Michigan.

Steven Graves was charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a handgun by a convicted Felon
  • Receiving stolen property – Firearm

In addition, this subject was charged on a Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:

  • Failure to appear in court

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
