FATAL COLLISION ON U.S. 431 IN LIVERMORE, KENTUCKY

LIVERMORE, KY (March 16, 2023) - The Kentucky State Police is reporting that KSP Post 16, Henderson received a call from McLean County Sheriff’s Department around 2:30 P.M. of a two-vehicle collision on the 431 Green River Bridge in Livermore.

The preliminary investigation reveals 33-year-old Blake Hamilton of Utica, KY was traveling southbound on the U.S. 431 Green River bridge in a 2021 Ford pickup truck with two anhydrous tanks in-tow. One of the tanks became unhooked and veered into James A. Heifner, 64 of Owensboro who was traveling northbound on the U.S. 431 Green River Bridge. Heifner was operating a 2019 Ford F-250 pickup truck.

Heifner was taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville via PHI Air Ambulance where he later died.

Hamilton was not injured in the crash.

The investigation is on-going by the Kentucky State Police.

Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, Livermore Fire Department, McLean County EMS, PHI, McLean County Sheriff’s Department and other agencies assisted troopers at the scene.
