LONDON, KY (April 21, 2023) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Stephen Walker arrested Melvin Stigall Jr. age 43 of London on Thursday afternoon April 20, 2023 at approximately 2:30 PM.
The arrest occurred off Old Richmond Road approximately 2 miles north of London while Deputy Walker was investigating a complaint there.
Melvin Stigall was charged on a Wayne Circuit Court indictment warrant of arrest charging:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
In addition this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Contempt of court
This individual was lodged in the Laurel Correctional Center.
