Pulaski County Couple Charged for Defrauding Healthy at Home Eviction Relief Fund

SOMERSET, KY - Sheriff Bobby Jones reporting the arrest of a Pulaski County couple for defrauding the Kentucky Housing Corporation Healthy at Home Eviction Relief Fund.

Records show Tina Kirby, 32, Somerset, KY, and Donald Brown, 32, Nancy, KY received benefits in February, 2023 from Healthy at Home Eviction Relief Fund pertaining to a claim that Brown was being evicted from the residence of 183 Peach Orchard Rd., Somerset, KY.

The landlord, Kirby, and Brown entered into a lease agreement for the property in January, 2023.

Through investigation, it was determined Kirby contracted with Ford Brother’s Auctioneers in November, 2022 to sell the property at 183 Peach Orchard Rd., which it did at auction on February 4th, 2023.

After the sale of the property, Kirby received $3,400 in Healthy at Home Eviction Relief Fund to prevent Brown from being evicted.

Kirby and Brown were both located, and arrested for Theft by Deception Over $1,000 while squatting at the Peach Orchard Rd. residence.

Both were lodged at the Pulaski County Detention Center.
